Albert Foster - former neighbor and former student
My parents, brother, and I lived across the street from the Thayers on 12th Street during the 40's and 50's.
We reconnected a few years ago when we accidently ecountered her grandson Tyler while he was attending Pepperdine University here in Malibu. In one of those casual conversations about "where are you from?" There was not only a connection to Pekin, but a close one. We were both surprised that I knew Joan, Bob, and Harold as well as Tyler's grandparents. Not only were we neighbors, but Virginia was also my sixth grade teacher.
She stayed at our house when she came to California for Tyler's graduation.
We extend our deepest sympathy to the Thayer family.
